His solo residency at Harrah’s became another successful chapter, incorporating music from across his career with newer technology and elaborate production.
As of 2026, his official website says the residency has been extended into 2027.
He is now approaching seven decades in entertainment.
But reinvention has always been one of his strengths.
Broadway Gave Donny Another Identity
Osmond’s career was never confined to recording studios and television sets.
One of his most significant theatrical successes came through Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
He performed the title role for roughly six years and more than 2,000 performances across the United States and Canada.
The role became particularly important during a period when Osmond was working to redefine himself after his teen-idol years.
Broadway later offered another challenge.
In 2006, he joined Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as Gaston.
The character was very different from the wholesome image associated with much of his career.
Osmond embraced the change.
He later returned to play Gaston for the Broadway production’s final performance in 2007.
That willingness to try something unexpected became a recurring theme.
Then Came Dancing with the Stars
By 2009, Donny had already been performing professionally for more than 40 years.
Still, he found another way to surprise audiences.
He competed on Season 9 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars with professional partner Kym Johnson.
And he won.
Osmond took home the Mirrorball Trophy, adding yet another accomplishment to a résumé that already included music, television and theater. His official biography continues to highlight that victory as one of the major milestones of his career.
But while his career repeatedly changed, one relationship remained remarkably constant.
