One day, Arthur went into the attic and found an old Mother’s Day card.
He had purchased it shortly after Leo was born.
The card showed a mother lion with her cub.
Inside were printed words about a mother who made everything feel safe.
Arthur had kept it for eighteen years.
He brought it downstairs and gave it to Goldi.
She read it and immediately shook her head.
“I can’t take this.”
“Why?”
