Found This After Drying My Boyfriend’s Clothes

You know that feeling when you pull a load of laundry out of the
dryer and discover something that definitely wasn’t supposed to be
there?

That happened to me recently.

After drying a load of my boyfriend’s clothes in our new dryer, I
noticed a strange metal object sitting inside the drum. At first, I
assumed it was something he had accidentally left in a pocket. But the
more I looked at it, the more curious I became.

The object is a long, smooth metal rod with a shiny, rounded ball attached to one end and a threaded tip on the other.

What exactly is this thing?

Could It Be a Dryer Part?

My first thought was that it might actually belong to the dryer.

The shape certainly makes it look like some kind of mechanical
component. The polished ball on one end and the threaded section on the
other suggest that it could be designed to connect or support another
part.

Some dryers use drum support shafts and ball-style components to help
support the drum as it rotates. If a component like that somehow came
loose, it could potentially explain why it ended up inside the drum.

But there’s a problem: without knowing the dryer brand and model,
it’s difficult to say for certain whether this particular piece belongs
to the machine.

Or Did It Come From His Clothes?

The other possibility is much simpler: my boyfriend accidentally left it in a pocket.

And honestly, that’s what makes this mystery even better.

The object is small enough that it could have been overlooked during a
pocket check, but it’s unusual enough that I can’t imagine immediately
recognizing what it is.

Now I’m wondering whether this is some random piece of hardware he
carried around—or whether we’ve somehow lost an important part of our
brand-new dryer.
