In December 2019, a novel virus originating in China
spread rapidly around the world, alarming the highest authorities,
including the World Health Organization (WHO). A highly contagious
infectious disease called COVID-19 emerged, along with an unprecedented
pandemic.
In France, the first cases were diagnosed at the end
of January 2020 and the first deaths caused by this new virus were
recorded about twenty days later.
